Grotto of the Popes

The Grotto of the Popes is very solemn.  Of course, the relics of St. Peter are enclosed here behind this sign - the protective glass made pictures virtually impossible.  Many, many people were here paying their respects to Pope John Paul - you can see his area is done in a more modern fashion that the older ones we took pictures of below.
