Georgia Institute of Technology

Commonly known as Georgia Tech - and also one of the top engineering schools around!

After a long flight (13 hours from hotel in Boston to hotel in Atlanta, with a long layover in Akron, Ohio when Atlanta wouldn't let us take off due to a storm, then a stop over in South Carolina to get more fuel after we finally almost made it to Atlanta but that were asked to circle too long for the amount of fuel on board.  Amanda did get to use her Spanish a lot to translate for a gentlemen traveling alone who was not confident in his English and couldn't understand when it was spoken to him too quickly.  She did an awesome job and he couldn't have been more appreciative!) we made it to Atlanta to see this school.

While it is in the city just like MIT, it has a lot more green around it and throughout it.

Amanda really liked this sign...

We got a lot of great information about Georgia Tech at the info session and tours.  We also learned that is is REALLY hot and humid in Atlanta in the summer and that people there are extremely friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome in their city (the whole place, not just on campus!).
